Surrounded with the Mont Gelé and the Col de Champillon, the winter powder snow is waiting for us with a more than beautiful view: in small groups, we experience spectacular descents in various expositions. The helicopter takes us in various and most fantastic places, depending on the conditions. On top of that come heliski options for frequent flier and a mountain guide who knows the region perfectly. We will finish the day together with local specialties.

The Grand Combin is, with its more than 4314m, one of the highest summit in the Alps. The icy massif is surrounded with the Val d’Entremont on the West, the Col du Grand Saint Bernard on the North, the Val de Bagnes on the East and the artificial lake of Mauvoison. The area is located at the frontier with Swiss and Italy. The starting point of our activities in the city of Ollomont. This small locality is at the foot of the Grand Combin.

A day at Grand Combin witz Luizi

We start our day at 8:30 am with a meet-up in Glacier. Accompanied with a hot coffee cup, you will receive all the instructions needed for the day. After the security instructions, the weather report is given to the helicopter pilot. We start direction Mont Gelé. From the air, you can enjoy a breath-taking view over the white summits and the sparkling snow under the sun. We land and start the first run in front of giant rocky massifs. We leave our traces in the deep snow. A few details about the destination and we keep on to our next landing area. We ski next to hanging glaciers and fully live the amazing beauty of the valley during a long descent. A day that should have no end! The helicopter comes back to Glacier where we finish the day with some delicious cheese, ham and wine.

We use mostly the South near the Glacier du Sonadon and the 5 km long hanging Glacier du Croissant. Our heliskiing area is on the Italian side. Every drop will give us from 700 to 1300 vertical meters runs. In addition to the wide deep snow and the sparkling glaciers, the region deserve to be known. From Ollomont, it is interesting to visit the origin valley of the Valpelline.

Thanks to the meteorological influences from both the North and the South and to the location in the massif, the snow falls in profusion during the winter. We can expect the wanted powder snow and ideal firn conditions during the spring for breath-taking powder-runs.
